April 8 Tomato Update, Dahlias and More Seed Starting

two dahlias I'm looking forward to ....... one recommended by Thomas Hobbs and the other I spotted at Butchart Gardens last summer

only two peppers started this year .......

April 3 'R' Garden

Time to plant my sprouted potatoes (Huckleberry Gold and small yellow unnamed potato), and clear out the dahlias that I didn't dig last year ....... most of the dahlias tubers had rotted, so happy I dug and stored my back forty dahlias

also, the succulents needed a bit of a cut back, so decided to relocated a few ....... also an overwintered chard got to to stay for a bit

April 1 Tomato Seedling Transplant Begins and Dahlia Tuber Update

It has been a bit since I've posted ...... so hopefully this will bring a bit of an overview of the tomatoes beginning in early Spring

Also, I tried a new method, to me, for over wintering my dahlia tubers ........ was most happy with the result, almost every tuber firm, with a visible eye ....... tubers were washed, separated and briefly dried last winter, then given a dusting of sulphur powder and wrapped in Saran Wrap ..... stored in cool storage room
