June 9 Whoa ......

Almost time to start harvesting cabbage, potatoes are flowering and the kale is ready to go ........ walking onions are taking over!!

Plots 5 starting to overflow; self-seeded alyssum makes a great mulch and the beneficial insects love it too ..... 

 and again, the Scary Dwarfs with eggplant and peppers in smaller containers ... I don't think the tall one is a Dwarf, but more of a miniature with delicate regular leaves

May 21 Time to Cage Tomatoes

Now May 21, and it is time to add tomato cages to dwarf plants.  The cages are of little use for "normal" size tomatoes, but just perfect for these, which is one reason I'm drawn to Dwarf Tomatoes .....

May 14 Dwarf Tomatoes are flowering

Here we are in mid May, and the potted tomatoes and peppers are adjusting well to their new home ..... there are even flowers on two of the Scary Dwarf plants

May 9 Update

Dwarf Scary Tomatoes planted out back in 5 gal containers and time for Peppers to get hardened off ....... and then planted in 2 gal containers .....

Then back to Plot 5 - the garden is filling out now - strawberries should be ripe soon and the cabbage, cauliflower and broccoli are sizing up nicely.

May 2 First Garden Harvest

The tomatoes are in and the radishes are out ...... first harvest of the season.  Also some self-sowed plants in the garden - purple orach, alyssum and a potato that got left behind last year!!  Also, potato onions have sprouted and the peas, lettuce and kale are looking good.  Oh, almost forgot the wonderful Caraflex cabbage from West Coast Seeds .....

May 1 Hardening Off Tomatoes

The tomatoes have been outside in the shade for a few days ....... hardening off, almost time for transplant to garden.  Some are getting too tall, but they will be planted deep
