April 7 Lilly Family Tomato Transplant

my original plan was to keep only the dwarf plants, but I'm excited about the extra large potato leaf plant, and if I can find room, will grow all 12 out ........ the F2 generation is where you will find the greatest variation, so worth checking out as many as possible ...... taste being my primary goal - hopefully in a dwarf format

April 7 Back 40 Update

Shogun - a really nice early tulip!!

nice to see a few daffodils emerging- also peony shoots and perennial strawberry

Santee broccoli shoots ready to eat .....

tulips from last year's saved bulbs - Disneyland Paris - and check out the garlic in the back .....

April 6 Tomato Transplant Time

Really happy with my tomatoes so far ....... although I may have started them a few weeks too early with the strange weather we've been having of late

this seemed like the perfect transplant mix - 3 scoops Dutch Treat starter mix, 3 scoops Pro-mix organic vegetable mix and 1 scoop vermiculite

planted nice and deep - half way there - now just the Lilly Family F2 babies to go .....  the transplants will spend the next few weeks on the windowsill with natural light

April 5 The Colours of Spring

Perfect day for a neighbourhood wander ....

the colours and shadows caught my eye

early spring flowers

and more cherry trees - so fleeting
