November 9 "R" Garden

a quick trip over to "R" Garden ..... time to cut down the dahlias (still haven't decided if I will dig the tubers) and put down more leaf mulch

before:

and after ...... decided to cut down the very large two-year-old kale ..... a mildew magnet and not used much for food; cut the dahlia stems very short and cored then to prevent rain from getting into the seals and rotting the tubers ...... still need a few more bags of leafs

I do like this kale so it gets to stay another year ..... gladiola behind kale didn't provide much colour this  year ...... their fate still to be decided

November 4 The Colours of Fall

October 31 Happy Halloween!!

October 28/29 "R" More at the Garden

that's a wrap for the dahlias ...... early freeze ....... our usual frost date is November 2

decided to grow all my garlic at "R" Garden this year ....... this garden has suffered from garlic rust in the past, but those that grew garlic this year didn't seem to have any issues; also had a few extra tulip bulbs that found a home

and a leaf mulch to cover ......

October 27 Vanier Park

nice to see a little green amongst all the concrete our city has become.......

snow geese!

October 23 Bulb Planting Time

containers remixed with my compost and Gaia Green Flower Power .....

trying narcissist in the ground this year ....... as they have not done well in containers the last few years due to heavy freeze/thaw

a late addition ..... thought these aconite would provide some colour before the Fritillaria appear
