February 9 Back 40

I don't think winter is done with us yet ....... haven't noticed any growth from the tulip bulbs ..... but the violas are blooming and a few hardy kale remain

thought I'd do a wee bit of winter sowing ......... years ago this was a successful method of getting an early start on the season

for those new to winter sowing
Winter Sowing

Three milk jugs sown on Feb. 2:  Promix Seed Starter Mix

Jug 1:  Coreopsis “SunKiss”, Rudbeckia hirta “Cherokee Sunset”
Jug 2:  Blue Curly Kale, Kale – Siberian, Nero Di Toscana Kale
Jug 3:  Wild Garden Seed Lettuce – “Morton’s Secret Mix 2022”, ‘Camo Oakheart Mix”

Two more on Feb. 8

Jug 4:  Tashkent #1 Marigold
Jug 5:  Breen Lettuce

February 8 Beds 10, 11 and 64

They are a go for another year ....... badly in need of weeding

the purple frills mustard is really tasty, sweet, rich with a vague tang and the mizuna is still good

winter hardy claytonia being overtaken by shot weed .... mild and wild tasting

whoa, what to eat in Bed 64?

these look like poppies?

February 8 Introducing Bed 107

Wasn't sure if Beds 10, 11 and 64 were a go this year ...... a new similar garden nearby just started up ..... thought I'd claim one Bed just in case .....
